Trinamool Congress spokesperson Shashi Panja has stated that the party is closely monitoring the political activities of senior TMC leader Mukul Roy amidst reports of his potential fast-approaching induction into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to sources, Mukul Roy recently met with BJP General Secretary Arun Singh in Delhi, following which his son Subhransu had reported him missing. However, it has now been confirmed that Roy is in Delhi.
Expressing concerns over Roy's health, Panja added that he is suffering from a neurological condition and requested for his well-being amidst the current political turmoil.
Roy, who was once a close aide of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, had left the TMC in 2017 to join the BJP, but later returned to the TMC in 2021. His potential re-entry into the BJP has been a subject of much speculation in recent weeks.
